Sara Bareilles is an American singer-songwriter and pianist with an estimated net worth of $16 million. She is 5’5″ and weighs 124 pounds. Sara Beth Bareilles was born on December 7, 1979 in Eureka, California. She was the youngest of three girls born to Paul Bareilles and his wife. Bareilles did not have a pleasant childhood because she was often teased about being overweight. The bullying caused her to have to transfer schools at one point. Although she shied away from attention, Bareilles had undeniable musical talent that led to her always being on stage. She performed in her school’s choir and even earned a lead role as Audrey in her high school’s rendition of Little Shop of Horrors.

After high school Bareilles matriculated to the University of California, Los Angeles to study Communications. She joined the university’s a capella singing group. After graduating in 2001, Bareilles stayed in Southern California to follow her dreams of having a music career. She worked the club scene singing at bars and various open mic events. This eventually led to her getting paid gigs to sing a festivals.

In 2003 Sara Bareilles recorded her first demo tape Careful Confessions. The tape caught the attention of Epic Records and they signed her to a record deal. The songstress’ first album Little Voice was released in 2007. The lead single from the album ” Love Song” was a hit and sold over 3 million copies. The album itself became a top ten album on Billboard. Also Bareilles received to Grammy nominations for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Song of the Year after the release of her first album.

Bareilles spent two years touring and during this time she released a concert album Between the Lines: Sara Bareilles Live at the Fillmore.  In 2010 she released her second studio album Kaleidoscope Heart. The album’s lead single “King of Anything” was yet another critical success for the singer and it garnered the singer her third Grammy nomination.

In 2011 Sara Bareilles signed on to become a judge on the third season of NBC’s The Sing-Off. She did not return for the fourth season. In 2012 she released the EP Once Upon Another Time which featured the lead single “Stay”. The following year Bareilles dropped her third major studio album The Blessed Unrest, which featured “Brave” as its lead single.
