Melissa Molinaro is an American pop singer, actress, model, choreographer with an estimated net worth of $8 million. She is 5’7″ and weighs 134 pounds. Melissa Ann Smith was born on June 4, 1982 in Whitby, Ontario. At the age of 3 Smith began figure skating and two years later she started gymnastics. Her parents enrolled her into Deborah’s Stage Dance Door Performing Arts Academy at a young age. Her dance skills helped her land lead roles in theatre productions like “Cinderella”, “Beauty and the Beast”, and “Cabaret”.
When Smith turned 18 she auditioned to join a girl group called Goddess. She signed a deal with Interscope Records and became the group’s lead singer. Goddess never attained commercial success so in the meantime Smith worked as a model and actress. She made early guest appearances in movies and shows such as High Crimes, Grounded for Life, The Young and the Restless, Happy Family, and The Hillz.
In 2005 Melissa Smith auditioned for MTV’s Making the Band 3. She was one of the final 11 contestants but was cut during the show’s finale. She tried her hand at another music competition show called Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll. In this show she competed for s spot to become the newest Pussycat Doll. Smith was eliminated in episode 7.
During her career she has released the following singles all independently: ” I Believed”, “Lost in Love”, “Dance Floor”, Shake The World/Goodbye Forever”, and “The One”.
The entertainer is also known for being featured as a lead performer in the popular “Super C.U.T.E.” Old Navy commercial which garnered over 1.7 million views on Youtube a week after its release. Many commented on Smith’s uncanny resemblance to Kim Kardashian. Old Navy was subsequently sued by Kim Kardashian because of the commercial and an out of court settlement was reached in August 2012.
