Mario Lemieux was born on October 5, 1965 in Montreal, Quebec Canada. He is currently married to Nathalie Asselin with whom he has four children named Lauren, Austin, Alexa and Stephanie.

As a professional hockey player, he spent 17 seasons (1984-2007) with the Pittsburgh Penguins. After acquiring the Penguins in 1999, he became the team’s chairman and principal owner.

Under his management, he has led the team to Stanley Cups twice, in 1991 and 1992. Seven years later, the team had its third cup. He is considered to be the only person who have won the cup both as an owner and player. Lemieux is also a part of the team Canada which won the 2004 World Cup of Hockey championship, the 1987 Canada Cup, and the  2002 Olympics in which the team won the Gold
