Iggy Azalea was born as Amethyst Amelia Kelly on the 7th of June 1990 in Sydney, Australia. At age 16, she moved to the United States to pursue a career in music. In September 2011, her debut mixtape titled “Ignorant Art” was released.
Eventually, Azalea was signed by the record label “Grand Hustle” which led to the release of her EP entitled “Glory”. Besides her singing career, Azalea also pursued a career in modeling. In fact, she became a professional model represented by Wilhelmina Models. Shortly, she was hailed as the New Face of Levi’s Jeans.
On April 2014, her debut studio album was released and went into the top five of several music charts worldwide. It was followed by the release of four singles including “Change Your Life”, “Fancy”, “Bounce”, and “Work”. Her single “Fancy” took the #1 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart which made Azalea the fourth solo female rapper to have topped the Hot 100 chart. On the same week that Fancy topped the chart, she was featured on Ariana Grande’s “Problem” which only came in second.
