Net Worth: $50 Million
Nicknamed “Matt the Batt,” retired Major League Baseball third-baseman and right-handed batter Matt Williams has an estimated net worth of $50 million. He earned his net worth while playing in the MLB for the San Francisco Giants, the Cleveland Indians, and the Arizona Diamondbacks from 1988-2003. Born Matthew Derrick Williams on November 28, 1965 in Bishop, California, he was originally selected by the New York Mets from Carson High School in Carson City, Nevada. However, he did not sign with the Mets. He played as the starting quarterback on the Carson Senators football team in high school. Two of his high school baseball teammates, Bob Ayrault and Charlie Kerfeld, also played major league baseballs.
During his years in the MLB, Williams became the only player in history to hit at least one World Series home run for three different Major League baseball teams. He had an overall batting average of .268, with 378 home runs and 1218 runs batted in. He scored 997 Major League runs and has accumulated 1878 hits, 338 doubles, and 35 triplets while playing in 1866 regular-season games. In 2009, he became eligible for the National Baseball Hall of Fame. However, he only received 1.3% of the votes that led to his dropping off the ballot.
