Latin Hip Hop artist Daddy Yankee, born Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez on February 3, 1977 has a net worth of $15 million. After receiving many tips and lesson from underground rap in its early stages in Puerto Rico, later to be called Reggaeton, Daddy Yankee recorded Playero 37. His first solo album was titled No Mercy, and later El Cartel and El Cartel II, leading him to be known as a pioneer of the Reggaeton movement.

In 2002 Daddy Yankee released El, which granted him international success, and with the follow up, Barrio Fino, in 2004, he received a Premio Lo Nuestro and Latin Billboard award, as well as a nomination for a Latin Grammy and MTV Video Music Award. Barrio Fino ranked highly on sales charts in the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Japan. In 2007 El Cartel Records released El Cartel: The Big Boss, which was the top selling Latin album in 2007.

In 2006 Daddy Yankee was named one of the 100 most influential people by Time magazine, citing the over 2 million copies of Barrio Fino sold, as well as his $20 contract with Interscope records, and Pepsi endorsement. He also released Talento de Barrio in 2008, the soundtrack to a movie he starred in, and is set to release Mundial in 2010.
