A retired professional basketball player and sportscaster, Bill Walton spent 13 years of his life playing for the NBA. He officially joined the NBA when he was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers as the first overall pick in the first round of the 1974 NBA Draft.
From 1974 to 1978, he played for the Portland Trail Blazers and from 1979 to 1985, he played for the San Diego and Los Angeles Clippers. From 1985 to 1987, he played for the Boston Celtics before his retirement.
Walton was included in the NBA’s 1997 list of the 50 greatest players to play in the league.
